Benefits of being a Serial Entrepreneur

Greetings from Siddharth Rao’s Blog! Today – I’m going to write about some of the top benefits of being an entrepreneur (or perhaps, a serial entrepreneur). I am sure most of my fellow entrepreneurs would agree with these benefits while who aspiring to become an entrepreneur can take a lot of inspiration and motivation out of this post : - )

To start off with – lets try to answer a simple question: “Who is an entrepreneur?” To get an exact definition and origination of this word – go to “Wikipedia-Entrepreneur”.

However, on a more casual note – lets try to define it our own way. If I have to answer this question – here are some immediate notions that’ll trigger in my mind (most of them relating to myself):

A unique feature about entrepreneurship is that you can either be one or can’t be one. It is a characteristic that gets seeded inside you right from your birth. If you don’t have it in you – it’s almost impossible to hone those characteristics inside you as you develop yourself / your career. The basic seed of entrepreneurship is a gift, which not everyone receives! However, having said that – it certainly needs a lot of nurturing, constant learning and polishing in a timely manner, in order to make yourself a “good” and “successful” entrepreneur.

There are several benefits of being an entrepreneur (or rather a “successful” entrepreneur I must say). I’ll be listing some of the ones that I think I benefited the most. Ever since I started thinking sensibly as a teenager – I’ve been an entrepreneur all thru these years; and will always be! The thirst keeps increasing and my brain keeps harvesting for every window of opportunity in almost everything I deal with – on a day-to-day basis! With that said – here are some of the most significant benefits of being a serial entrepreneur:

  1. Achieve Financial Freedom: Yeah – entrepreneurs are indeed “rich” compared to the other working masses.
  2. Enjoy Self-Employment: You control your life, you are your own boss, work only when you feel like working, and take a vacation whenever you want.
  3. Enjoy Work Satisfaction: Work no longer appears as a “job”. It’s what you like and it’s what you love to do. You enjoy your work and you feel satisfied every day!
  4. Multiple Sources of Income: Reduced vulnerability to recession type environments, no fear of loosing jobs or cutting down on basic needs or even some luxuries, enjoy the great feeling of seeing those fat paychecks every week in the mail.
  5. Bigger Achievements in Shorter Time frame: Entrepreneurs dare to dream big; and most of them care to achieve it as fast as practically possible.
  6. Exponentially Multiplying Knowledge: Entrepreneurs constantly keep learning and educating themselves with new things and alongside implement them in their respective business. This makes them a knowledge bank in no time.
  7. Constantly Growing Network: Visiting trade shows, events, seminars, and network with other people/businesses and see how your network grows in record time!
  8. Opportunity to do something for the people: Isn’t it a great feeling to have the opportunity to create a business or market where you give something useful to the people and also create new jobs for the people? Sure it is!
  9. Fame & Recognition: No matter what scale or level an entrepreneur reaches to, every one of them receives their share of fame and recognition out there; over a period of time.
  10. Courage & Toughness: Entrepreneurs are tough people at mind and heart! Courage, daring, hard work and never-give-up attitude is what lets them taste the sweetness of success; and thereby - sustain it!

There are dozens of other additional benefits of being a serial entrepreneur. The above ones are what I feel – hold higher importance to me. The main purpose of writing this blog post is two fold: (a) – to actually rant a lil’bit and throw something up for the “ranting” category of my blog ; - ) ; and ; (b) – to motivate you readers out there. I’ve seen quite a few people who have an entrepreneur hidden inside them; but for some reason, they can’t discover themselves or identify that quality. So I thought – may be, after reading this post, something may trigger or ring a bell in your mind?
